En 2006 Hackitectura (collectif d'artistes et d'architectes -- espagne) développe «Wikiplaza» un espace public modulable de manière coopérative, selon les principes du Wiki, en impliquant de nouveaux réseaux d'infrastructures technologiques citadines liées à l'implémetation de protocoles coopératifs et ouverts (wiki).
Le concept a été présenté dans le projet lauréat de Morales de Giles Arquitectos and Esther Pizarro pour la Plaza de las libertades à Séville, ou il devait être appliqué à l'espace urbain. Mais il n'a pas pu être développé.

Le prototype sera maintenant présenté à Paris, Place de la Bastille du 29 mai au 5 juin 2009

Le prototype de la Wikiplaza presenté à Paris, consiste en une infrastructure développée avec des éléments architectoniques légers et des systèmes technologiques (hardware, netware et software) conçus pour un usage public ouvert et participatif. Cette infrastructure fonctionne comme une extension ou une amplification de l'espace public existant, en connectant des lieux distants et des ressources numériques. Les idées de liberté de connaissance, de distribution d'information et d'accès aux réseaux sont la clef de la Wikiplaza.

Wikiplaza, or an experiment in the social production of space mediated by technologies

In 2006, hackitectura.net produced the concept of wikiplaza to rethink public space. It was first applied in the winning competition entry for the Plaza de las Libertades in Sevilla, Spain – a project developed in collaboration with Morales de Giles Arquitectos and Esther Pizarro. The project, however, has not been built.

Wikiplaza Paris

Invited to develop a wikiplaza prototype around the topic of “digital contents and the future of the city”, for Paris 2009, hackitectura.net and labomedia consider to apply these ideas to a temporary installation to be located in the Place de la Bastille.

The WikiPlaza Paris will be an infrastructure made up of light architectural elements and technological systems (hardware, netware, software) designed to be used by the public in participatory open ways, to share knowledge and experiences, to access local and remote resources, to connect itself to other people and locations. The idea of freedom of knowledge, distribution of information and access to networks is key to the wikiplaza. It will be implemented through the employment of free software and hardware, web 2.0 technologies and open and transparent use of the space and systems.

A performance by artist Emma Hedditch will begin at the CCCB Hall at 6.30 pm
and continue to the opening of Working Documents at La Virreina Image Centre
(in collaboration with l'Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival).

Working Documents is an exhibition that explores film and video artistic
practices that use documentary performance and interventionist strategies
for social critique.

Filmmaking strategies such as reassemblage, appropriation, and re-enactments
are proposed symptoms of our post-capital time, in which image-documents
becomes a form of critical yet open and plural reading of social contexts.
The various trajectories in the works in the exhibition extend to gender
politics; translation as mediation; performance as symbolic geography; the
transmission of documentary images through relational projection devices;
and collaborative constructions of images.

ACTIVITIES
Talks on production processes, visual strategies and ways of disseminating
the documentary productions presented by the artists in Working Documents.
