Cycle de conférences sur Internet Les rencontres de Internet Mon Amour sont initiées par: Annie Abrahams, Olivier Auber, chercheur, Agnès de Cayeux, net-artiste, Géraldine Gomez, curatrice au Centre Pompidou, David Guez, net.artiste, Valentin Lacambre, figure de l’Internet indépendant, fondateur d’Altern et Gandi, Nathalie Magnan, tacticienne des médias et cyberféministe, Albertine Meunier, net-artiste, Annick Rivoire, créatrice du site Poptronics, Anne Roquigny, curatrice nouveaux médias, Cyril Thomas, historien de l’art.

Le projet de loi «Création et Internet» nous préoccupe. Il est en total décalage avec notre réalité, bien loin de la «Création» et encore plus de cet «Internet» dont il prétend réguler les pratiques.(...)

Ce projet de loi est contraire à nos pratiques, tout comme il est extrêmement méprisant des usages et totalement ignorant d'un monde simplement contemporain.

-Nous souhaitons qu'un projet de loi intitulé «Création et Internet» prenne en compte nos processus de création. C'est un droit.
-Nous désirons partager et être téléchargés, sans filtrage aucun. C'est une nécessité.
-Nous espérons que le principe démocratique selon lequel l'œuvre existe ou n'existe pas au travers du regard de l'autre s'applique à cette multiplicité que d'autres nomment «piratage». C'est une revendication.

L'auteur, le créateur, le spectateur, a muté. L'œuvre est regardée, écoutée, partagée, comme jamais auparavant. Et c'est pourquoi créateurs et regardeurs ne peuvent être filtrés par une loi obsolète et crétine. Une loi qui asphyxie la «Création» et «l'Internet».

The meetings of Internet Mon Amour are initiated by Annie Abrahams, Olivier Auber, researcher, Agnès de Cayeux, net-artist, Géraldine Gomez, curator in Centre Pompidou, David Guez, net.artist, Valentin Lacambre, one figure of the free Internet , founder of Altern et Gandi, Nathalie Magnan, tactical media activiste and cyberfeminist, Albertine Meunier, net-artist, Annick Rivoire, editor of Poptronics.fr, Anne Roquigny, curator in new medias Cyril Thomas, art historian.

«[On 2008.08.27 ndt], the FBI, UC Berkeley police, and Alameda County Sheriff's deputies conducted a raid on the Long Haul Infoshop, a community space that is home to a number of leftist and anarchist groups, including a newspaper and a radio station. Armed with a warrant, authorities entered and quickly removed every computer in the Long Haul space. (...)
Even with a warrant, the authorities may have acted in violation of federal law when they seized the computers. The seizure of media computers would appear to be a violation of the Privacy Protection Act, which says that the authorities are not entitled to "search for or seize any work product materials possessed by a person reasonably believed to have a purpose to disseminate to the public a newspaper [or] broadcast.»

«We wanted to let you know that we took the 2009 organizer to the printer before the cops took our computers and so this police raid won't impact either the 2009 organizer or the next issue of Slingshot newspaper, which will be published on schedule on September 26. (The article deadline is September 13.) Most of the computer data lost was backed up. We do not think that the police got a copy of our mailing list or distribution address list (which are maintained at another location on a different computer) and we wanted to re-assure our volunteer distributors that we do not think the police have your address. Thanks to everyone for their words of support. We'll keep up the struggle - we hope you do, too. »

EFF: Les ordinateurs du Centre Activiste de Berkeley ont été saisis.
« Le 27.08.08, le FBI, la Police de Berkeley et une délégation du bureau du Sheriff du compté d'Alameda ont mené un raid sur l'Infoshop de Long Haul, un espace communautaire qui héberge des groupes anarchistes et de la gauche radicale, ainsi qu'une station de radio et un journal (slingshot). Pourvues d'un mandat, les autorités sont entreés dans le centre et ont saisis tous les ordianteur. Malgré leur mandat, les autorités pourraient bien avoir violé la loi fédérale / Privacy Protection Act / qui stipule que les autorités n'ont pas le droit de rechercher et saisir du matériel de produits privés lorsqu'il est destiné à la publication d'un journal ou la diffusion d'une radio.»

Ainsi le raid de la police n'aura pas de conséquence sur l'organiser 2009 et sur le prochain numéro de slingshot, qui sera publié comme prévu le 26 septbembre (...). La plupart des données que nous avons perdu, avaient été sauvegardées. Nous ne croyons pas que la police soit en possession de notre mailing list, ni de la liste des adresses de distribution ( que nous gardons dans un autre ordinateur, dans un autre lieu), et nous voulons rassurer nos distributeurs bénévoles; nous ne croyons pas que la police a vos adresses Merci à tous de vos messages de soutien. Nous continuons la lutte, et nous espérons que vous aussi.»

Frenzy started with a frustrated drunk conversation - "What are we doing in london?". After graduating from an art college in the green pastures of Farnham, it felt like we had never sat down since arriving in the city. We knew artists of the highest calibre, but didn't know where they were, Filmmakers of prolific potential, but no clue as to what their next project was, writers whose words could cut through the dense fog of contrived texts, but no pen scratching to be heard. So Frenzy was dumped onto the ethernet. It is now intended to simply pull together whoever and whatever we like in the art world, and make connections. Currently online, we hope to publish the first print edition by July.
